All-on-4 is a full-arch dental implant technique that replaces an entire row of missing or failing teeth using as few as four strategically placed implants. Those implants support a fixed, custom-made bridge that looks and functions like natural teeth. Because the implants are angled to make the most of available bone, many patients qualify without needing a bone graft, and the fixed bridge can often be placed the same day as the implants.
Most adults who are missing most or all of their teeth, wear uncomfortable or unstable dentures, or are dealing with widespread decay or failing teeth are candidates for All-on-4. Age alone does not disqualify a patient, and many people who have been told they have bone loss still qualify. The only way to know for certain is a consultation and 3D CBCT scan, which our Houston office provides in-house.
All-on-4 cost depends on factors like how many arches need treatment, whether any teeth need to be extracted first, and the materials used for the final bridge. Because every case is different, Uptown Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry provides a personalized quote after your consultation and imaging, along with financing options to help make treatment affordable.
The implant placement and a temporary fixed bridge are often completed in a single day, which is why the technique is sometimes called “teeth in a day.” Your permanent, custom-crafted final bridge is typically fitted a few months later, once the implants have fully fused with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration.
Traditional dentures rest on the gums and can shift, slip, or require adhesives, which limits what patients feel comfortable eating. All-on-4 is anchored to implants in the jawbone, so the bridge is fixed in place, doesn’t move, and restores bite force closer to that of natural teeth. It also helps prevent the bone loss that comes with wearing removable dentures over time.
Coverage varies by plan. Some PPO dental plans cover a portion of extractions, imaging, or the restoration, while implant placement itself is often only partially covered or not covered at all. Our Houston team reviews your specific insurance benefits and also offers financing plans to help spread out the cost of treatment.
Most patients experience swelling and mild discomfort for the first few days, which is managed with medication and a soft-food diet. Many people return to work or normal activities within a few days to a week. Full healing and osseointegration of the implants takes a few months, during which you’ll wear a comfortable temporary fixed bridge.
Uptown Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is led by Dr. Roberto Velasco, a Houston prosthodontist with thousands of All-on-4 treatments performed across Texas. The Uptown/Galleria-area office has an in-house 3D CBCT scanner, so imaging, planning, and same-day provisional restorations happen without outside referrals, and the practice holds a 5-star rating across 224+ patient reviews.
